Showing off your best self

It's no secret that we all have favourite features about ourselves. Maybe you've got killer eyes, great hair, or a perfectly proportioned nose. Regardless of what you deem to be your own best assets, just know there are always ways to play them up and make them work even more to you favor. Consider it a way to make yourself shine. Alternatively, if you've got a feature that is less than your favorite, you can pick up a few tips and tricks to help downplay that particular area as well.
To play up your eyes: It's important first to realise that you don't have to be overly dramatic here in order to make your eyes stand out. In fact, the best way to make your eyes pop is to line your upper lashes, taking care to get the liner in between the lashes as well. A dot of something shimmery in the inner corner of your eye can brighten them up and make them look larger.
Remove the focus from your nose: Contouring techniques are best put to use in this situation, to help you make your nose look smaller or thinner. In a rush? A line right down the bridge of your nose with a highlighter or concealer will do the trick. Choose a color a bit lighter than your skin tone and blend it well.
Play up your pucker: A slight hint of highlighter near your cupids bow is a great alternative to bright color or dramatic shading on your lips.

Killer cheekbones: Use a matte contouring powder or cream and lightly blend it into the hollows of your cheeks. Add a creamy blush atop the shadow and angle it upward, toward your temple. Add a band of highlighter just above the line of blush and you'll have a look that appears naturally achieved.
