Mineral Makeup
Mineral makeup is different from
traditional makeup not because of the ingredients it contains, but rather the
ingredients it doesn’t. Most mineral makeup brands don’t include preservatives,
parabens, mineral oils, fragrance or chemical dyes. These ingredients are known
skin irritants which is why mineral makeup comes so highly recommended by
aestheticians and dermatologists.
Here are
minerals that should be found in a real mineral makeup:
· titanium dioxide
· zinc oxide
· iron oxide
· mica sericite
· magnesium sterate
· bismuth (oxychloride
bismuth chloride)

Avoiding Ingrown Hairs
At Bronzalicious, we want to be
sure you get a smooth wax, without painful red bumps of ingrown hairs. That’s
why immediately after waxing, we’ll apply a salicylic acid astringent to the
area that will dissolve the dead skin that can cause ingrown hairs. We’ll top
that with a layer of hydrocortisone cream to reduce swelling and redness. We’ll take great care of you!

Pale Skinned Beauties
Pale skin is often attributed to
genetics. It’s also indicative of someone without sun damage, which generally
means healthy skin. There are a few tricks to applying makeup for those with
very pale skin that will avoid a washed out look.
To
brighten up: Avoid bronzer, and opt for a burst of color on your cheeks with a
bit of blush. Think of your fair complexion like a blank canvas.
Easy
over Eyes:
Use pastel colors up to your brow bone to draw attention to your eyes. Avoid
dark colored eye shadows which will make your skin look more pale.
Hair
color:
Talk to your stylist about a hair color that works naturally well with your
paler skin tone. In general, avoiding stark, dark colors is best.
Don’t
over-shimmer: Light reflecting powders will work against you here, making your
skin appear unreal and faded. Choose a light powder foundation instead for a
touch of makeup that’s not overly apparent.

Pre Wax Treatment Tips
The precautionary measures you take before getting a wax are nearly as
important as the wax itself as far as the overall outcome is concerned. Here’s
a look at our best tips and tricks for the ideal wax.
·
Trim your hair down to 2cm before you have any bikini
waxing. This is very important as it
will make your experience a lot more comfortable. Gents are also advised this if having chests or backs waxed.
will make your experience a lot more comfortable. Gents are also advised this if having chests or backs waxed.
·
If you have been shaving we recommend that you allow 2-3
weeks growth before a wax to allow your hair follicles to reproduce.
·
Leave 3-5 weeks between waxes
·
If you are going on holidays we recommend to have your
treatment 2 or 3 days before you leave to ensure your skin has time to calm down.
·
Exfoliating the chosen area the night before waxing will
result in a smoother finish.
·
Avoid sun-beds (or any heat treatments i.e sauna's) for
24hrs before & 48hrs after waxing.
·
Do not use moisturiser prior to your treatment as the wax
will not sit on your skin properly.

Make up shades for cool weather.
As the winter weather sets in, it’s important
that we adjust our outfits, accessories, and beauty routine to match. Cooler
weather is often looked down upon in comparison to sunny summer days- and who
can blame us?
· Bright colors: cobalt, emerald
green, and fuchsia
o Fuchsia is a shade that looks great
on everyone, and it’s supremely popular worn on the lip this autumn and winter
· Neutral grays – just like fuchsia,
neutral grays look good on everyone! Adjust the tone of gray depending on day
vs. night wear
· Jewel tones are sophisticated and a
touch dramatic. Brown eyed beauties are going to look especially lovely with
emerald green lids.
· Nearly nude or touches of gold are
both great looks to warm up your look this winter
Maximize your wax
Unwanted hair
is the bane of many people’s existence. It’s simply such a pain! Waxing is a
great way to keep unwanted hair under control. Here are a few tips on prepping,
and post-care that will help you get the most out of your next wax.
· Exfoliate the night before your
wax: dead skin cells can cause ingrown hairs, and exfoliation will help ensure
this doesn’t happen to you!
· Take advil or Tylenol an hour
before: it will help your waxing session be less painful, and for your skin to
feel less sensitive afterwards.
· Deep breathing during a waxing
session can help you to focus on something other than the slight discomfort.
· Use aloe vera gel after your wax,
and for the few days following to keep your newly smooth skin nice and soothed.
